A hot stone massage at Sunset Spa, inside Simpson Bay Resort, is $140 for 50 minutes or $180 for 80 minutes. Volcanic stones retain their heat, increasing blood flow and reducing muscle pain, stress and anxiety. We are open Monday–Saturday 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Sunday 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. It is one of the most relaxing treatments on our menu, and a good choice if you want relief from tight muscles without very firm pressure.

Who it is for
Hot stone massage suits you if you carry tension but do not enjoy strong pressure, or if you simply love warmth. It is a good treatment for a slow afternoon or a rainy day, and many guests find it helps them switch off more easily than a standard massage. If your pain is deep and specific, a deep tissue massage may work better. Tell us if you are sensitive to heat, or if you are pregnant, so we can suggest the right option.
What to expect
Your therapist uses heated volcanic stones during the massage, combining their warmth with hands-on work on your muscles. The heat helps your muscles relax, so your therapist does not need to press as hard to reach tight areas. Tell your therapist straight away if any stone feels too warm, and they will adjust. Most guests leave feeling heavy, calm and very relaxed, so we suggest you do not schedule anything demanding straight afterwards.
50 or 80 minutes?
Fifty minutes gives you a full, relaxing session. Eighty minutes slows everything down and gives more time on the back, shoulders and legs, which many guests prefer if they are here to fully unwind. If you are not sure, start with 50 minutes; you can add the sauna, hammam and jacuzzi afterwards to extend your visit.
Custom massage: two treatments in one
Our custom massages pair hot stones with a second style. The Swedish Custom Massage combines long, flowing strokes with warm stones for complete relaxation. The Deep Tissue Custom Massage combines firm, focused pressure with warm stones to melt deep tension. Both come in 50 and 80 minutes.
