Who it is for

Pregnancy puts extra strain on the back, hips, legs and feet, and many expecting mothers find it hard to get comfortable. A prenatal massage gives you time to rest with that strain in mind. It is designed for expecting mothers, who should not simply book a standard massage. Before you come, check with your doctor or midwife that massage is right for you, especially if your pregnancy is high risk or you have been told to take extra care.

What to expect

Your therapist positions you so that you stay comfortable throughout, and adjusts as you go. The pressure is gentle, and you can ask for more or less at any point, or ask to change position or take a break. Tell your therapist about anything that is bothering you, such as your lower back or swollen ankles, and about anything you would like them to avoid. You will also fill in a short health form before the massage, so we know what to take into account.

What to tell us when you book

  • How far along you are
  • Any advice you have had from your doctor or midwife
  • Any areas that are especially sore, and any allergies, including to oils or fragrance
  • If you would like a particular time of day. Many guests prefer a time when they feel least tired

Treatments to skip or check first

Heat is the main thing to be careful of. We suggest you avoid the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi, and hot stone massage, unless your doctor has told you they are fine. Our nail salon and facials are popular additions; tell your therapist that you are pregnant so that they can guide you on products. Coming with a partner? Message us on WhatsApp and we can help plan treatments for you both at the same time.
